Seniors do not know how to get where they want to go if its more than a few miles away from their home.  This is not a criticism, it is merely a fact.  As a retiree, seniors do not have to normally travel far from their homes.  They may remember traveling to the destination a few years earlier and think that that memory will be good enough to get them to their destination in a safe and timely manner.  This is not a likely outcome for an uncharted trip driving alone.
